Skin the color of a nice cup of coffee with cream and freckles sprinkled across her cheeks like the dust of cinnamon on an espresso, Rumih embodies the beloved morning drink in more ways than one. Bitter at first but addicting, and before you know it, you’re hooked. Personally Rumih isn’t a big coffee drinker. Too bitter for her taste, not to mention the caffeine does something strange to her, but to each their own.

Rumih has dark brown hair with blonde highlights. In the past she used to wear it longer but due to a series of unfortunate events her hair had to be cut and she’s kept it short ever since then. She keeps it styled in a short bob with a braid going across the top of her head. Her eyes are a brilliant shade of emerald that twinkle with hidden intent. She also has a beauty mark below her right eye.

As for makeup she goes for a steady smokey eye look since she believes it makes the color of her eyes pop the most. Heavy liner accentuates her long lashes and she usually opts for a simple gloss on the lips. Ever since she could get her hands on makeup she’s loved putting it on. She views it as playing around making art on her face. It's a cute little side hobby of hers.

Rumih, now that she has a pretty gil to her name, dresses to impress. She wouldn’t be caught dead in slops, she has clientele she intends to keep. Appearances might not be everything but they are something at the end of the day. She likes wearing the color red, it compliments the color of her eyes well so you’ll usually see her in that. As for the type of clothing she prefers, anything that looks good. It doesn’t have to be expensive to look expensive. Currently she’s been into some Far Eastern styled clothing, but she’ll wear anything as long as it looks good.

Some people swear that money doesn't make the world go 'round. Rumih would wager those that believe that haven't been to Ul'dah. Gold Digger, Thief, Cheat, Hustler, Rumih has been called them all but that doesn't stop her grind though. Rumih could care less what people think about her when it comes to her livelihood. It's survival of the fittest out there and Rumih refuses to lose. She's already seen rock bottom and she's too stubborn to go back.

Rumih has seen a lot, been through even more, just like anyone else. However unlike a lot of people, Rumih refuses to be defined by her past. What she's experienced will be lessons that propel her forward not shackles that hold her back. It's that determination or stubbornness, whatever you want to call it, that has developed her workaholic nature and nurtured it.

How much is enough? How far till she reaches her goal? Rumih doesn't have an answer for that right now. Having stared from the bottom she's only motivated to keep going, not reach the top. If she stops then there's a possibility she could lose everything she's worked so hard for. So she keeps fighting, perhaps she always will until she breathes her last breath.

She's trained herself to become more of a people person. When she was a child she was more shy and a bit of a follower more than a leader. However, if she wished to truly survive out here then it required her to shed her old self and don a new mantle to call her own. Rumih can now comfortable engage in social conversations without becoming flustered. In fact, she's become quite the charmer herself. Still, after prolonged social engagements she can find herself exhausted and the best way for her to recharge to have moments to herself.

Ever since being under the wing of her mentor, Rumih has adopted the mantra of 'by any means necessary'. She's not afraid of conflict and underhanded methods to get her way in the end. In fact, it's quite a common practice she's been told so it's only natural she master this trade as well.

As much as she is charming, she's also deadly, in more ways than one. Of course there's her martial prowess but when it comes down to the venom she can spew from her lips other's should watch out. She usually has a comeback or a witty remark to add but if she's silent you can be sure she's up to no good. Rumih unfortunately is the type to hold grudges. If you have done her wrong she'll definitely remember and there's no guarantee she won't pay you back.

Relationships

Nethelo Clan: Her home, her family. Rumih was one of the many daughters to the current Clan head. She was brilliant, to put it simply. She stood apart even in comparison to her talented brothers and sisters. Because of her talent she it was assumed she would be the next clan lead. (Clan leads were chosen based on strength not when they were born in the Nethelo clan.) However due to an unfortunate accident Rumih found herself on the run. She turned her back to everything she knew and loved and never looked back. She hasn't been in contact with her family ever since. For all they know she could be dead. She'd prefer it if they continued to think that way.

Everild Fowler: Her mentor. After fleeing she found herself without a home or a means to care for herself. If Ever hadn't found her and decided to take her under her wing, Rumih surely would've died. Ever was an Ul'dan business woman first and foremost and doctor second. Ever essentially raised her and taught her everything she knows From modern (Eorzean) medicine, to actual education and the culture around her. Ever viewed Rumih as her own daughter and Rumih viewed her as family as well. However, Ever was always a woman that put business first. She never stayed in one place for long, which was fine with Rumih, she was used to it. Once Rumih was old enough Ever one day left her with a note telling her goodbye. She was of to the next best moneymaking thing. Rumih was old enough now to take care of herself and Ever considered it her final test, to see if all of her effort would go to waste or not. Could Rumih survive on her own? Only time would tell. The pair exchange letters every now and then but otherwise haven't been in contact for a while.

Ariunaa Kagon: They met in Ul'dah when the doe-eyed Xaela first found herself in the desert. Rumih sniffed her out right away. Fresh meat was so delicious sometimes. Especially when it came to supplying her coin purse with additional heft. However, Rumih came to find her normal con artistry falling short when it came to the Xaela. Mostly because Ari didn't have anything but also because she didn't have to try, Ari just freely gave. It was so odd that it threw the keeper off her groove to the point she just gave up. They worked together quite often and before she knew it Ari was referring to them as friends. Rumih still isn't quite sure what to make of her, but she doesn't find herself hating being around the young Xaela. Perhaps she grew on her.

The Brass Clover: Her current employer. Ever trained Rumih to take profitable arrangements as soon as she could. Meaning after, and only after, she deemed it a complete boon to herself and her needs, could she agree to a contract with another or a business. Ari was the one who informed her of this place and Rumih was...intrigued to say the least. After doing some digging and meeting with the establishments owner she figured allying herself with these people would be in her favor. Besides, they could allow her to freely work on her side business without attracting unwanted eyes and that was good enough for her.

History

This story features original clan lore made by me, with features and inspirations from in-game lore provided by Final Fantasy X|V 's development team. Consider it lore bending but not lore breaking. If you wish to learn more about the 'Nethelo' clan see the "About me" section and contact me.

If Rumih took the time to really sit back and think on her origins and her family, then she could say without a doubt that her childhood was a good one, all things considered. Then again, that's if she took the time to think back on it. Nowadays, Rumih almost denies any connection to her former self.

Rumih was the second youngest out of 6 children. Her mother had four girls and two boys, so her hands were definitely full. When Rumih was born something was different. Her mother would always tell her that she was special. Rumih was born on a full moon and on that full moon her mother said she could distinctly hear Menphina's voice. Whenever Rumih would ask what Menphina said, her mother would reply that it was a song. (Which is why her nickname soon became the Moonsinger)

Out of all of her sisters and brothers Rumih was considered the most 'gifted' when it came to her natural powers, her ability to hear Menphina's messengers, and how strong her healing and protective charms were. It wasn't long before rumors were being spread around her clan that she would be the next clan leader. In her clan, leaders were chosen by strength of 'gift' not by order of birth.

Because Rumih was so different her days looked a lot different than her other sister's and brother's. While some of them got to play Rumih had to study and mediate. She and to hone her skills and push her limits, all in order to protect the clan. While some might believe her childhood to be lacking Rumih never minded. She enjoyed her studies and as she continued to feel her power swell she felt useful to her family. This was her purpose, her destiny.

Everything was going well. She was growing to a strong young woman and as she got older more responsibility was trusted to her. When she was 13 her clan allied themselves with another to establish trade connections that could benefit them both. Rumih was used as a diplomat during that entire phase. She made contact and established connections with the other clan while also representing her own clan.

However everything wasn't as peachy and peaceful as they claimed to be. While the adults were easy to work with those her age were not. They were ruthless. They taunted Rumih for her beliefs and made fun of her clan. They bullied her and threatend to end the peace talks if she said anything to anyone. Back then she was too scared to stand up for herself or to recognize her value. She didn't want to be the one responsible to mess things up for her people.

One particular day was the last straw however. Her tormentors took things a little too far. Were too aggressive. Things began to spiral out of control faster than Rumih could catch her breath. Before she knew it a series of unfortunate events had taken place that had left one of her tormentors dead and her gravely wounded. The other two were in shock and their rage was fierce. They blamed her for the death of their friend, their family. They chased her down shouting that she would rue this day. Blood for blood.

Rumih was injured and she knew she couldn't get far without them catching up so she hatched a plan and faked her death. She hid in an area of great superstition for both clans and her pursuers dared not follow her in. They wrote her off as good as dead. While Rumih had won that battle she had lost the war. She felt that blood was on her hands and she could no longer return to her family. She would only cause them danger and grief.

She was homeless and an orphan who had little to no means of survival. Days blurred into each other as she continued to wander. Right as she was about to collapse her savior found her and took her in. Everlid Fowler adopted her in, restored her to health, and raised her from then on. For the next 8 years she trained and educated Rumih. The change in her was severe, to the point where the old her was unrecognizable to who she was now.

Ever taught her everything. Rumih owed her life to that woman. Everything she now knows and understands was a gift given to her by that woman and she will always be grateful.

Current Story

06/19/2020: Ariunaa, an associate of Rumih's, informed her of a job opening with an interesting group. Ari had been working for them for a bit herself but something personal came up and she needed to return back to her home in the Steppe. Ari, however, being the kind soul she was didn't want to leave them without a proper replacement and the first person she could think of that was capable was none other than Rumih. Flattered, Rumih informed her she would think on it. From there she looked into the group on her own and arranged and interview. After being impressed with what she saw and deeming it would be in her best interest to align herself with these individuals, Rumih currently finds herself in the employment of The Brass Clover as Medical Staff.

» Dislikes: Stupid people, Bad smells, Being poor, Loss of money (as in someone causing her to lose money), Cowards

» Magic: Rumih is comfortable in using both white and black magic. In terms of combat she'll rely on the spells she's memorized but she's also proficient in the staff. (She wields the staff much like a spear that dragoons use)

» Occupation (Explained): Rumih is a traveling apothecary so that means she prepares and sells medicines. She also practices white magic, a tool that was taught to her by her mentor and adoptive parent. Rumih is skilled in alchemy and is well versed in educational text. Not to the point of calling herself a scholar but she certainly is knowledgeable, not only in her class, but in general.

However, beyond saving lives she's a business woman. Rumih is good at her job, more than good. Through word of mouth alone she has a faithful group of clientele that's growing every day. By day she's a savior by night she's a winner. Rumih deals in narcotics. Promised 'safe' narcotics that deal minimal damage to one's health but are addictive all the same. Whether that's what keeps her clients coming back or her good work is up to the person. Rumih's drugs are good quality though.

About The Author

Hi there! The name's Artemis and I'm the player behind the Keeper! I'm a Final Fantasy X|V roleplayer from Mateus, Crystal. I love long walks on the beach and I pray for world peace. Just kidding. I spend most of my time on the game hanging with friends or trying not to die in savage raids.

Oh and this is sort of a disclaimer but the character I roleplay is not me and I'm not her. I don't cross IC(In character) with OOC(out of character). The beliefs and behaviours my character exudes do not mean that I agree with them or support them. My characters have a mind of their own and are in no way influenced by me. (At least I do my best to keep it that way.)

As for socials, you can follow me on my Twitter, or IG to catch my gpose screenshots or head on over to my twitch where I stream Final Fantasy X|V occasionally!
